The formula
Fee per invoice = the smaller of 0.4% of the payment and $2. Yearly fee = fee per invoice × invoices per month × 12. The cap starts at a $500 payment, so a $500 sale and a $5,000 sale cost the same $2 to invoice.
The default above is ten $1,000 sales a month. Each costs $2, so the year is $2 × 10 × 12 = $240.

How much does Stripe charge for an invoice?
For a post-payment invoice on a one-time Checkout or Payment Link purchase, Stripe charges 0.4% of the payment, capped at $2 per invoice. Subscription invoices are billed with Stripe Billing, which is priced separately. Check Stripe’s pricing page for current rates.
What is the Stripe invoice fee on a $100 payment?
$0.40. The cap of $2 starts to apply at $500, because 0.4% of $500 is $2.
Does the $2 cap apply to subscription invoices?
No. This calculator covers one-time Checkout and Payment Link invoices. Subscription invoices are billed with Stripe Billing.
When is Stripe’s invoice fee cheaper than Quietbill?
When you issue few invoices. At the $2 cap, it takes about 25 invoices to cost as much as Quietbill’s $49 one-time price. If you’ll only ever invoice a handful of sales, Stripe’s fee costs less. Quietbill also covers past payments and lets customers add a VAT number after paying, which this calculator doesn’t price.
